About Fitpic

Upload forms are fussy. "Photo must be under 50KB." "Image must be 413 × 531 pixels." Fitpic exists to get you past those messages quickly, without installing anything and without handing your photo to a stranger's server.

How it works

Everything happens in your browser. Fitpic decodes your photo, then encodes it again at different quality and pixel settings, measuring the file each time, until it finds the sharpest version that fits your limit. If you ask for exact pixels, it sets those first.

What it does not do

It cannot add detail that a photo never had, and it cannot check whether a photo meets a particular agency's photo rules, such as background colour or head position. Always check the requirements of the form you are using.
